Dr. Richard Wismayer is a Consultant General Surgeon and a pioneer on colorectal cancer research in East Africa. He has published over 60 articles and book chapters in peer reviewed journals and international books as primary author in this field. He has presented new data on risk factors and factors influencing outcome of colorectal cancer at major international conferences. His focus at the University of Edinburgh is on determining the genetic profile of colorectal cancer in East Africa.
